I’ve been involved in Pre-School since my children started in 2003. I was a Committee Member and Chair before moving onto the Staff Team in 2005, when I trained and obtained NVQ Level 2 and 3 in childcare. I took on the role of Deputy Pre-School Manager for 4 years and became Pre-School Manager in the summer term of 2018. I love Pre-School, the community aspect and the lovely outdoor space and freedom of outdoor learning for our children to grow and explore before they leave to go to school.
I joined Pre-School on the Committee when my eldest child started Pre-School in 1989! I held the Chair position for 4 years and then realised I couldn’t leave so started to train with Nottingham Pre-School Learning Alliance. I am qualified to Level 3 in Childcare and have held several different posts over the years including room management before becoming Pre-School Administration Manager, therefore I have a varied knowledge and experience. To see children and staff grow and shine over the year is a delight and makes me feel very proud of what we, the Staff Team and Committee, achieve.
I have a Level 3 childcare qualification and have worked in childcare since leaving school. I have been at Pre-School since 2010 and have taken on the role of Deputy Pre-School Manager since 2018 I enjoy watching the children grow and helping them to start to develop their skills for life. Also, no two days are the same when working with children!
I have 2 children and I have always been part of their education. I started being a parent helper at both my children’s Pre-Schools and schools and decided to develop my skills working with children and took a training course in childcare. I helped, worked and trained at Busy Bees Pre-School for 4 years, gaining NVQ Level 3. I have worked at Attenborough Church Pre-School since 2014 and I’m loving every minute. I love working with children because no 2 days are the same. I love to help children explore and find new things through play. Helping them to flourish in their development. I am patient, have a kind friendly manner, am caring and have the ability to communicate with children.
I have an Education Studies degree and in 2019 completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Early Years with Early Years Teacher Status. During my time at university I gained a lot of work experience in different schools, mainly working with children in KS2. After graduating I worked as a teaching assistant in a local primary school. I have worked in early years since 2016. I love working in early years, I personally find it one of the most rewarding age groups to work with. The best thing about working with children is watching their confidence, creativity and personalities grow and develop. No day is ever the same and the children constantly surprise you with the things they say and do.
My experiences of working with young children began in 2008 when my first child was still a baby, and I took over the running of the Attenborough Mother and Baby Group along with two friends. We ran the group for a year. All of my 3 children went to Attenborough Church Pre-School and had such a wonderful time that I was motivated to join the management committee and ultimately became the Chairperson of Pre-School for 2 years. I have been a member of staff since January 2016. My background was being an accountant, but I have enjoyed working with young children so much that I have completed a post-graduate degree at the University of Derby and gained a qualification as an Early Years Teacher.
I joined Attenborough Church Pre-School in 2016, but I have been working in childcare since 2005. I have an NVQ Level 3 qualification in early years alongside a NCFE classroom assistant and British Sign Language qualifications. I work with children because I like to see their achievements as they grow and develop, and to smile with them every day. At Pre-School I particularly enjoy organising various cultural events for the children. I am also a staff committee member. I have 2 children and in my free time I enjoy cooking, walking and yoga.
I realised I wanted to work with children whilst doing Heath and Social Care at school. I joined Pre-School in January 2018 as an apprentice. I have completed my Level 2 in childcare and have now qualified to Level 3. I like to see and help the children to grow and develop.
