Fees & Funding

Payment of fees can be made via bank transfer.  We accept Tax-Free Childcare payments which will save you 20% of the cost of childcare fees.  See www.beststartinlife.gov.uk to check if you are eligible to use the Tax-Free Childcare Scheme.  We do not accept CASH or CHEQUE payments.

Funding

We have FULLY FUNDED places available with no additional compulsory charges.  You can use funding for all of the hours we are open each day until you have used up all of your funded entitlement, after which you can pay fees for any additional hours needed.

There are several different streams of government funding available for children, varying from 15 hours per week to 30 hours per week according to your child's age and family circumstances.  It can all seem very confusing, so please read this summary below:

30 Hours Funded Childcare (for working parents)

  • If you (and your partner) are working the equivalent of a minimum of 16 hours per week at the National Minimum Wage, to a maximum of earning £100,00 per year individually, you may be entitled to up to 30 hours of funded childcare from when your child is 9 months old.
  • You may also be eligible if you are on maternity, paternity or adoption leave, or are unable to work due to disability or caring responsibilities.
  • You must apply for this funding in the term BEFORE you want to start using the funding.  See www.beststartinlife.gov.uk for eligibility criteria and to apply for 30 hours of funded childcare.
  • We allow children to start at Pre-School from their second birthday, so if you apply to HMRC for your funding code in the term before your child's second birthday, then your child will be fully funded with us from their first day at pre-school.
  • Once you have a valid funding code, you need to re-confirm your eligibility with HMRC every 3 months.

15 Hours Funded Childcare

There are two streams of government funding that provide 15 hours of funded childcare:

  • Two Year Old Funding of 15 hours per week is available to families who are eligible for certain benefits.  You need to apply through your local Council, and funding begins in the term after your child's second birthday.
  • Three and Four Year Old Funding of 15 hours per week is available to all children from the term after their third birthday, regardless of the family's circumstances.  You do not need to apply for this funding, Pre-School will do this on your behalf.  You will simply need to complete a funding form provided by Pre-School.

Please visit www.beststartinlife.gov.uk for further information about funding entitlements
