I am currently a stay at home mum of two, Chairperson of the Pre-School Committee and Vice-Chair of Governors at a local primary school. I first joined the Pre-School Committee in 2015 as I wanted to support the Pre-School that my eldest child attended at the time and bring to the role the experience of my background in Education. My youngest child now attends. Before taking a career break to raise my own family I was a secondary school teacher for 16 years, 12 of them in local schools. I started out as a teacher of French and went on to also become involved in teacher training before moving on to be a Vice Principal in a large academy in Nottingham city. I loved educating 11-19 year olds and I now feel very privileged to be experiencing the learning journeys of children aged 0-11yrs, this time from the perspective of a parent. I have a degree in European Studies with Languages, a PGCE in Modern Languages (French), AST status and my NPQH.
I have three children and my son currently attends Pre-School. I joined the Pre-School Committee in 2016 and am currently Vice-Chair. I joined to support the Pre-School and to meet other parents, and I have made some good friends along the way. I also enjoy supporting the great team who look after our children. Prior to having children I managed a Bid Team for a large multi-national organisation and gained a lot of Project Management experience in that time. I have a degree in Economics.
I was born in Wales and grew up in Spain, and I’ve been living in Chilwell for 5 years now. I’m a freelance translator and mum of two. I joined the Committee in 2016 when my daughter was at Pre-School, and now my son attends. I like getting involved and helping out in Pre-School and in my daughter’s school. I also love coffee and anything to do with languages!
I joined the Committee as Treasurer in 2017 when my eldest son was at Pre-School to meet other parents and to support the amazing job the dedicated staff do in looking after the children, making sure they all enjoy their time at Pre-School and are prepared for the transition to school. I currently work part-time as a management accountant at Nottingham Trent University and prior to that was a commercial analyst at a manufacturing company.
I grew up in Attenborough and after many years living in London, I returned to the village after having my first child. Prior to having children, I worked in food retail and now work part-time for Walgreens Boots Alliance as a Planning Manager. I have 2 daughters and my eldest currently attends Pre-School. I joined the Pre-School Committee in 2016 and am currently the Fundraising Officer. My daughter loves the Pre-School and I am keen to be involved, to support the fantastic team in its development and success.
I joined the committee in 2017 when my eldest daughter started Pre-School, I initially joined so I could support my daughter's journey but have really enjoyed meeting other parents and getting to know all the staff.
As well as being a mum of two girls I am a director of a curtains, blinds and soft furnishings company and prior to that a knitwear buyer for M&S.
I joined the Committee in 2018 after my eldest daughter started at Pre-school in mid-2017. I had heard great things about Attenborough Church Pre-School before we started and am really happy to recommend it myself to other local parents. My daughter absolutely loves her time there especially the amazing outdoor space.
I am a doctor by background but am currently a full-time mum to my two children and am enjoying being more involved in the running of Pre-School through the Committee.
I was a qualified nurse in Japan. I have two children and started working in childcare in 2005 and became qualified in NVQ Level 3 in 2008. I also have a NCFA Classroom Assistant qualification and British Sign Language. I joined Attenborough Church Pre-School in 2016 and have since taken part in organising various cultural events for the children. I also volunteer with the local Rainbows, which I have been doing since 2006. I work with children because I like to see their achievements as they grow, and to smile together with them every day. I am also a Staff Committee Member.
I have been working in childcare since 2007 and have twin girls of my own.
